Kota stone is a fine grained variety of Limestone (Chemical composition is Siliceous Calcium Carbonate), sedimentary origin, quarried in Kota and Jhalawar districts of Rajasthan. Kota and Jhalawar districts have about 100 million tonnes of this type of decorative grade flooring Limestone, better known as Kotastone.

The main use of Kota stone is in the flooring of residential & commercial buildings. It is also used for making steps, staircases, window sills, etc. It is very popular because of its durability and slip-resistant nature.
