Kota stone is a fine grained variety of Limestone (Chemical composition is Siliceous Calcium Carbonate), sedimentary origin, quarried in Kota and Jhalawar districts of Rajasthan. Kota and Jhalawar districts have about 100 million tonnes of this type of decorative grade flooring Limestone, better known as Kotastone.
